From our childhood we hear of angels. We read many stories of angels and find out how we all have our angels who is always with us? Do you believe in your guardian angel? Have you ever felt her presence? Or do you not believe that there is something called as angel? I am not referring to religion, but in day-to-day experience. Can we discuss about how to find out about the presence of our angel and how to listen to her? I am very sure that all of us have our guardian angel and those of us who believe and look forward to listening to her get many experiences. Let us discuss more.

You can feel protection and safety. You can sense the answer to a question that is bothering you but you haven’t even verbalized. You feel like you are being given messages and chances to follow a certain path. When you feel comfort in trying times or a sense of happiness when you are sad, you may be feeling the power and presence of your guardian angel. When you feel alone and don’t have the comfort of feeling protected, then you may not be able to feel the presence of your angel. If that is the case, then you can do something to help you feel and hear your angel’s messages and communication.

There are simple ways to increase your reception of Divine communication with your angels. You need to be prepared to listen and feel their presence. In order to be aware of an angel’s message, you must place yourself in the reality that we do have angels trying to communicate with us all the time. Have you ever felt that you need to make a phone call, stop a particular thing from happening, or do something that you hadn’t planned to do? Those can be examples of our angels directing us. Sometimes the directions are clear and the outcomes can be seen and understood. Other times, we don’t know why we feel or act a certain way.

You are never alone. Your Angels only need to be asked once, and they are yours forever.

No matter where you are, you are surrounded by Angels. Look! Did you just see something out of the corner of your eye? It could be your Angel moving about. When you are more in tune with your Angels, you will see them more often. When you acknowledge them, that brings them even closer.

Acknowledge your Angels wherever you happen to be, with whatever you happen to be doing. I always like to see them in sudden flashes of light, and it really doesn’t matter if it’s a manmade light, a tiny reflection of the sun, or huge flashes of lightning. I’m not fussy. I have already told my Angels this, so I imagine I see more light than most. If you’ve told your Angels you see them in Angel statues, you probably have seen more statues of Angels than most. Get the idea? They will come to you in the way that best suits YOU.

Are you now more in tune with your Angels? Do you accept their presence in your life? Do you talk to them?

Ask for their divine guidance and love as you go about your day. Feel their protection. Feel their love.

Like most people, I did not read Angels and Demons until after I read The DaVinci Code. Blown away by The DaVinci Code, I gave Angels and Demons a try. Dan Brown’s books are true masterpieces of literature. He spins complicated webs of plot, character, and suspense.

The book Angels and Demons start out with the beloved scholar/symbologist Robert Langdon receiving a phone call in the early morning. After a disturbing fax comes in of a mutilated body, he sets off on a high intensity journey in hopes of stopping a murderous cult and saving the Vatican.

I would highly recommend any of Dan Brown’s books but especially Angels and Demons. A word of warning: if you are not 100% set in your faith, don’t read this book. Just like The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons causes controversy with his inclusion of the Catholic Church and religious myths. It was this controversy that initially caused me to buy his books and find out what all the fuss was about. I AM someone who is deeply sure of my faith and because of this assurity I did not second guess my beliefs for a work of fiction. Part of this controversy is from people who are worried that these books will have people denouncing their faith because now they have another point of view with unanswered questions. In my personal opinion, if reading any work of fiction is going to cause you to question your beliefs and faith, you really didn’t have faith to begin with.

Several years ago, in 1990, I wrote a piece entitled, What Do Angels Look like? which you will find below. As the title suggests, it is about Angels and what we THINK they look like.

When most of us reflect upon Angels, we conjure up pictures in our minds of beautiful mystical beings with opulent wings and golden halos. We may recall various childhood memories of stories told of Angels and what they represent from the various religions we studied, or schools we attended.

But for me, Angels were always so much more than that. They were an ongoing part of my everyday world.

I am sure that if you look at your own life and the people in it, you will find Angels everywhere. The problem is, that most of the time, we just take it all for granted. We go about our day often lost in thought, oblivious to the world all around us, unaware of the miracles that abound and the countless Angels who grace our path.

It is my sincere desire that today, you OPEN YOUR EYES to not only SEE the Angels in your own life, but to be an Angel for someone else. And, It is my profound hope that just for today, you can rise above your mere mortal existence and walk among the gods.

What Do Angels Look Like?

Like the little old lady, who returned your wallet yesterday.

Like the taxi driver, who told you that your eyes light up the world, when you smile.

Like the small child, who showed you the wonder in simple things.

Like the poor man, who offered to share his lunch with you.

Like the rich man, who showed you it really is all possible, if only you believe.

Like the stranger, who just happened to come along, when you had lost your way.

Like the friend, who touched your heart, when you didn’t think you had one left to touch.

Angels come in all sizes and shapes. All ages and skin types.

Some with freckles, some with dimples, some with wrinkles, some without.

They come disguised as friends, enemies, teachers, students, lovers and fools.

They don’t take life too seriously. They travel light.

They leave no forwarding address. They ask for nothing in return.

They wear sneakers with gossamer wings. They get a deal on dry cleaning.

They are hard to find, when your eyes are closed.

But they are everywhere you look, when you CHOOSE TO SEE.

Psychic angels are not something that most people think

about or are even familiar with when it comes to psychic

abilities. What it commonly refers to is a reading between

the psychic and the client’s guardian angel. In fact

“angel” means “messenger” in Greek.

An angel, used in this context is a spiritual entity which

carries out duties from God or a higher being- most

importantly messages that have urgency or special

significance to the reading ( or time sensitive importance )

Symbolically, the angel is an image or metaphor for The

overseeing of ordinary life and one’s soul as it

progresses, both here on earth as well as in people after

their deaths. Psychics often harness this * energy * or

imagery to procure information they believe is emanating

from outside of the client, or person being “read”. They

are usually described as very compassionate, helpful and

wise beings. They often form in the images of humans and are

beautiful and elegant.

For those of us who believe, angels themselves have psychic

powers which they can use to help us through difficult

situations. Any questions the client has are directed to the

angel for guidance in the client’s life. Any questions can

be asked of angels. Their sole purpose is to guide and

protect – so the use of a psychic is just a means of getting

the angel’s message to the client in a way that they can

understand. The psychic is basically the translator or

facilitator of information unavailable to the the person

being read through ordinary means.

What typically happens when a psychic angel is used in a

reading?

The process begins as the client sits and relaxes their

body. The mind needs to be cleared of any thoughts. It is

helpful if you open your mind to imagining your angel coming

to you to help. As the psychic goes into their trance state

that is when they claim to be most capable of channeling

angels into their readings. The angels guide them in

understanding problems the client is facing in their lives

and communicates what actions that person needs to take. In

order for the psychic to relay the truth that they are

speaking to angels – the angel will give them information on

the client’s past in order to build the trust that is

needed between the client and psychic.

While this is most definitely a controversial and often

dismissed manner of having a psychic facilitate a reading,

many people have reported uncanny and surprisingly good

results from these types of readings. Further – there are

accounts of even hardcore skeptics reporting changes in

their body temperature, ( typically warmth) and seeing

angelic beings very similar in appearance to those being

described by the psychic. There have been photographs taken

of these angelic beings, most notably in recent well

documented cases of mediumship like the Scole experiments –

which were witnessed by believers and non-believers alike.

A great introduction to some of Rome’s most famous sights not to mention a lesson in navigation around the eternal city as well, the Angels and Demons Tour is a guided tour based on the highly acclaimed novel by Dan Brown. After searching for introductory tours of Rome during my European tour planning phase, I happened upon this one particular tour and thought it sounded like loads of fun not to mention the fact that it would be a great way to see the sights.

Do you dare to walk in the “Path of Illumination”? If so, then read on as this article recounts the tale as we too, followed in the footsteps of Robert Langdon as he set out on that mysterious and courageous journey guided by angels and demons to save the kidnapped Cardinals not to mention the Vatican from impending doom. So our tour too was to be guided by the same angels and demons.

We raced over to Piazza del Popolo on the other side of the Tiber River to begin our tour at 9:30. There, we met our private guide, Michaela, whom to this day, remains a close and personal friend. After introductions, we began our journey along the “Path of Illumination” which includes visits to the Pantheon, the four churches or “Altars of Science” mentioned in the book and concludes at Castel Sant’Angelo. When viewed on a map, the churches form a giant cross over Rome with Santa Maria del Popolo to the north, St. Peter’s Basilica to the west; Santa Maria della Vittoria to the east and finally; St. Agnes in Agony to the south (across from the Fountain of the Four Rivers in Piazza Navona). As the story unfolds, these churches correspond to the four scientific elements of earth, air, fire and water which represent how each of the kidnapped cardinals was to meet his end. Our first stop was Santa Maria del Popolo. Before I proceed any further, let me back up to give a little background on how we got here when the book starts out in the Pantheon. If you remember, Robert and Vittoria began their tour at the Pantheon, the 2000 year old building in Rome designed originally by Agrippa in 27 B.C. but then later burned and rebuilt in 125 A.D. What remains to this day is Rome’s oldest standing domed structure which was originally designed for the ancient gods of Rome. However, the building was later consecrated in 609 as Santa Maria dei Martiri and currently holds masses to this day. It was at the Pantheon that Robert Langdon made his first stop on his quest to save the four cardinals. Because he incorrectly deciphered the clues from the Vatican library, he and Vittoria headed to this location believing they would be there in plenty of time to save the first kidnapped cardinal. Despite their unswerving efforts, they were too late because as the story goes, they didn’t realize in time that Raphael’s body was later moved from the Pantheon to Santa Maria del Popolo even though all clues pointed here including the demon hole or occulus at the top of the structure.

Now, back to Piazza del Popolo. Michaela our guide, pointed out the Egyptian obelisk in the center of the piazza which formed a giant ellipse, one of the keys to identifying this first church in their journey along the “Path of Illumination”. We went inside to the Chigi Chapel and discovered the demon hole or the ossuary annex in the floor. No wonder history calls this a “demon hole”. Needless to say, this location represented “earth”, the first of the four elements. As the story goes, Langdon was too late but we weren’t. We toured around the rest of the church and before leaving, scouted out our first angel who is positioned with Habakkuk in Bernini’s Habakkuk and the Angel sculpture. Which way is he pointing?

As it turned out, the angel pointed west so we left the church and headed due west to St. Peter’s Basilica where we discovered our next angel, representing “air”, the second of the elements, at the base of the Egyptian obelisk located in yet another giant ellipse that is St. Peter’s square. This is where the second cardinal met his end.

The “air” angel seemed to blow east to Santa Maria della Vittoria where the third cardinal was to meet his doom consumed by fire. Historically, this building was dedicated to St. Paul and known as San Paulo when it was built in 1605-1626. Later, it was rededicated to the Virgin Mary. Once inside, we recounted Langdon’s experience and then directed our attention to the Bernini sculpture, The Ecstasy of St. Teresa where we would find an amazingly realistic rendition of St. Teresa expressing sheer ecstasy for her love of God while an angel stands close by pointing his spear of fire. You must see this in person because pictures do not convey the brilliance of the golden beams nor do they really show you how Bernini captured and rendered ecstasy in St. Teresa’s face. It is beyond belief!

Moving on. The angel in this church then lead us to our next stop on the tour, Piazza Navona where the 4th cardinal would meet his doom in Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers in the middle of the piazza. The fountain represents the four great rivers in four continents at the time it was designed by Bernini in the Renaissance. Surrounding Triton are the Nile in Africa, the Ganges in Asia, the Danube in Europe and finally the Rio de la Plata in America. Rising from the center of the fountain is a gigantic Egyptian obelisk hence another clue for Langdon. By the way, this famous piazza is usually a “must see” on everyone’s Roman itinerary because it was the site of ancient Roman chariot races. Then in the 15th century, it was redesigned as a public space with contributions from Bernini and and Girolamo Rainaldi who designed the church of St. Agnes in Agony. Today, it is home to these glorious buildings and sculptures and very tempting cafés surrounding the piazza. It’s a great place to grab an espresso and people watch, however, be warned that the cafés are absolute tourist traps that feature overpriced and often mediocre food so stick to coffee and maybe a pastry. Go and seek your main courses where the locals dine.

At this point in the book, the four cardinals are gone and now Langdon must rescue Vittoria which brings us to our final stop in the story and tour, Castel Sant’Angelo. Originally designed as a tomb for Emperor Hadrian whose ashes along with those of his wife, were indeed buried here, the structure built in 135-139 AD, was converted into a fortress in 401 that ultimately housed many a Pope after it was converted into a castle in the 14 century. There is one very interesting fact about the “connection” between this structure and the Vatican itself. Not accessible to the public but nonetheless there, is the Il Passeto, a secret passageway that provided an escape route for Popes from the Vatican to the safety of this massive fortress. In the story, the cardinals were kidnapped and lead out of the Sistine Chapel via Il Passeto.

We arrived at the entrance and walked around the curving ramps inside the castle to the top for a breathtaking view of the Tiber River and surrounding Rome. Lots of history to see here and a model of the structure before and after the conversion from mausoleum to fortress.

Our story and tour are coming to an end. Needless to say, Robert does save Vittoria and then rescues the Vatican from the threat of destruction. Michaela rescues us with a treat to some coffee and a pastry at a nearby café before we departed. So, we journeyed along the “Path of Illumination” guided by our angels and demons and experienced a lot of the famous sights in Rome while reliving the fictional world of Dan Brown. What fun!! I strongly recommend it to anyone who has 4 hours to spare in their Roman holiday. You can do a private tour where you are shuttled by your guide via taxi or a group tour in a mini-van. I recommend the private tour! Have fun!

Although belief and faith have a great impact on what happens to us, we do not necessarily have to believe in angels to experience them. The invisible planes and their variety of occupants are much closer than most people imagine. Creation is not separated although it appears to be. The conscious thinking mind only assumes it is. Once a person has a one-on-one experience with angels, departed relatives, friends or luminous beings, the unknown becomes known. It is possible to receive guidance, help, healing and be rescued in times of urgent need. In asking for help, we are reaching out to an intelligence that we may or may not actually see. When people do see beings or visions from the subtle world, they may see what they expect. For instance, I think of wings as symbolic, a state of limitlessness. As a result, whenever angelic beings appear to me, they are minus wings. They are limitless simply by the fact that they are angels.

A long time ago, I read about St. Bartholomew who was one of the first who went on record stating that angels may be identified by a trailing and wonderful fragrance. The unexplained scent of roses or pines in the air may be a clue that an angel has passed by. He said that the refreshing smell of a rich pine forest is associated with angels on a healing mission. A sandalwood fragrance is associated with healing angels. Sandalwood is also associated with protection from negative energies. A scent may indicate angels who have come with creative and inspirational messages or suggestions. Personally, I have never detected a scent when angels are present. In other words, experiences differ and there are no set rules.

Angels appear in many sizes and colors. They usually look ageless and absolutely flawless. One of the ways that you may recognize an angel’s presence is through a feeling of peace and warmth flowing through your mind and body. This can be true even if the angel is not seen. Their messages are clear and positive and not an experience that you would likely forget. One of the most stunning personal experiences occurred when I was alone and praying. I became aware of a large globe that looked like a vehicle of transportation. Within it stood three luminous beings. Their combined energy was so overwhelmingly beautiful and good that I immediately fell to my knees weeping in joy. I felt the room, including the floor, was holy ground. As mystical and sacred as this experience was for me, many angelic happenings are very practical and lifesaving.

I have always found it fascinating how the angels will briefly appear in human form to help us in a time of need. This amazing wonder has happened to me several times and to many others. For instance, several senior ladies that I know were driving on an isolated road in Wisconsin. When a flat tire occurred, they were at a loss as to what to do. Only a few minutes had elapsed and a young man appeared near the car asking my friend, Miriam, if she would like help with the tire. Of course, she said yes. In no time at all, the spare was put in place. Miriam turned her back to the man as she looked in her purse, which was sitting on the front seat. Although the stranger never asked for payment for his services, she wanted to thank him in some way for his generous act of kindness. When she was ready to hand him the money, he had disappeared. What was interesting about this incident is that the ladies were stuck in an isolated area and no cars, buildings or activity could be seen anywhere. It is safe to say that we need to pay closer attention to who walks unexpectedly into our lives. The individual may be an angel in disguise. Perhaps, you have already met an angel and did not recognize who it actually was.

What do you think when you hear the word, Prosperity? What comes to your mind? Lots of money? Land? Power? Is it a selfish term? A greedy term? A definition of Prosperity according to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary is;“the condition of being successful or thriving, especially; economic well being”. We all probably think of that “especially” more often than anything when describing prosperity, which is ‘economic well being’. How do we grasp the concept of prosperity in a spiritual way? How do we rewrite old beliefs of unworthiness and feeling undeserving?

Luckily, God created loving messengers to assist us in our journey to discover the Truth of Prosperity for us as Lightworkers. Angels are Divine beings created by God to love, serve and protect us. They are our friends. Just like a friend, they want what is best for us. God created the Angels so we could have closer connections with God, a link, a place to start our journey towards Divine Love. Sometimes it’s easier for us to think of an Angel loving us. Thinking God loves us might be too big of a thought to wrap our head around. So God made these special beings to show us the way to Love, the way to God, to the best of who we are.

These Angels love us unconditionally. They do not judge us or think badly of us. They never sit there and criticize us, even when we make mistakes. They don’t see that we are making mistakes; they see us as learning lessons. They are happy to assist us in anything, day or night. All they care about is supporting us and being there for us. This may be overwhelming to think, that there is a resource for us to receive such unconditional support. Angels are pure love and they rejoice when we ask for assistance.

So why do the Angels want you to prosper? For many reasons! Angels see our inner light and want to help us shine. They realize that worry, anxiety and fears block out our glow. Our old belief system blocks us from receptivity. It blocks our imagination. It blocks our ability to feel courageous and to take risks. It blocks us from truly being ourselves. It blocks us from taking steps we might take if we felt confident in ourselves and in our abilities. It blocks us from receiving all good and abundance in our lives.

Step One in recognizing and attracting prosperity in your life is seeing the abundance already in your life. When you wake up in the morning, what are your first thoughts? Do you worry about there being enough time, money, friends, fun, rest, work and play in your life? Do you wake up eagerly expecting good to come into your life? The Angels want to help us see the good that is already present in our lives. Sometimes it takes a while to undo old thought patterns and change our focus. Sometimes it can be difficult to ‘see’ that we already have good, right now, in our lives.

One way to shift our thinking is to practice recognizing the Magical Moments in our everyday. Famed Life Coach Anthony Robbins talks about how each of us, right now, already have many magical moments everyday, yet we fail to recognize them.

Let’s get started on seeing those Magical Moments right now. Make a habit, at the end of each day, to reflect on what you experienced. Create a journal to keep track of those Magical Moments; examples can include when you had lunch today and the person behind the counter gave you a smile, with an extra large helping of fries; when that phone rang with a call from your friend you hadn’t spoken to in ages; that amazing sunset as you were driving home from work tonight? Simply start to recognize 2 or 3 moments everyday. The Angels encourage you to make it a game. See how God is blessing you with these moments, which may easily be swept under the rug if we don’t really think about it.

This is the reason, this is the key, this is what happens when we recognize the good in our lives, as related through Unity author, Sophy Burnham in her article, What God Do You Pray To, The Path of Prayer:

“The Universe responds to praise! It loves to be noticed, and when you receive its gifts with gratitude, it does cartwheels to send you more! You don’t have to believe me; put it to the test. Try it out; see if it doesn’t work for you. One day, when you are flushed with humility and gratitude, give in.”

As you start your Magical Moments journal, you’ll be surprised to see what you already have in your life. As you acknowledge the prosperity, it will only start to increase! The Angels will help you to break down old negative thoughts that is blocking this flow into your life. Start your journey in asking the Angels to help you rewrite your beliefs about abundance. They’ll send you signs and guidance to assist you, day by day, to attract even more prosperity into your life today!

Do you think your Angels talk to you? You would like to believe that — but for some reason you can’t? For instance, how do you know an Angel is talking to you? How can you be really sure?

You can be sure your Angel is speaking to you at any given moment, because they are. So much else is always going on, though, sometimes you don’t realize, at that particular instance, that it was your Angel speaking to you or getting in touch with you in some other way.

There are as many ways to receive Angel’s messages as there are Angels. Each has their own unique way of speaking to you. It’s like you were talking to a person of another language. They are giving you your answer in German, and it’s the right answer, but maybe you don’t understand German. What do you do about that?

You find another way to speak. One that neither of you knew before, but both of you understand.

That’s how your Angel speaks to you. If you don’t understand what she’s saying, then she will find some other way to communicate, until you do understand.

There are no coincidences in this lovely world. With all the Angels talking and doing God’s work, there is movement in the energy around you.

To put it in layman’s terms, if I see my hand move a glass from one part of the table to another, I know that that glass didn’t move itself. It had help, me. I “helped” it move from one spot to another.

If something happens to us, if we are moved from one way of living or thinking about something to another way of living or thinking about something, we had help. Our Angel was “helping” us. It wasn’t a coincidence.

Things do not happen by themselves.

Whatever happens, happens for the good of all. Someone is always learning something in their journey through life. If they are not learning what the Angels have set out to teach, in the way the Angels have set out to teach, the Angels will soon “speak a different language” — and they will continue trying different languages or ways of doing things until they find the one you understand. So, I repeat . . . Things will keep happening to you UNTIL you understand.
